The past six weeks broke most rain records for the bay area. Is there
a particular reason for it?

It's been an period for unusual weather all over the palce. Some oaf
from Philladelphia has been posting somewhere that the warm weather
there proves global warming. But in Britain we have had a cold late
spring.

Horses for courses. The ultimate cause of the weather is the same all
over the planet. Thus one unusual phenomenon will tend to occur at the
same time as something else unusual elsewhere.
