Default Dean??

How in the hell could Dean, on it's present path (or even if it strays 200
miles off) come anywhere close to New Orleans or anywhere along the northern
Gulf Coast? I can understand why the Texans are a little nervous, after
all, it's still quite a ways off and the current path shows it hitting about
150-200 miles south of the border, still seems highly unlikely that Texas
would experience anything other than low level TS winds and some heavy rain.

I know Katrina has Orleans folks a little gun shy but is it even remotely
possible for this thing to do what would amount to a complete change of
direction and suddenly come bashing into the northern Gulf Coast? Me thinks
not!

It's early in the season. Plenty of stuff can happen before November.

Sure, there could be a traffic jam of storms in the Atlantic by this time
next week but I was referring to Dean, it's not going anywhere near the
northern Gulf Coast or the US, just took a peak at the latest track and the
NOAA has Dean clearing the US by hundreds of miles and New Orleans but about
800 miles! It's also lost a little of it's punch but of course, that could
change rapidly.

Nope, Texas might be slightly affected, perhaps some heavy rain and possibly
severe weather but it's not going anywhere near New Orleans or the northern
Gulf Coast. There's always a possibility but there is also a possibility
that St. Louis could receive a major earthquake today as well; or that
George Bush could pull his head out of his arse but.....
