Default Snow or never.

It seems any theory with our climate can quite easily be pulled apart.
I was thinking of this equation:

La Nina = UK Mild Winter
El Nino = UK Mild Winter
Butterfly eats insect in Brazil = UK Mild Winter
Daily Express forcasts -16°C = UK MIld WInter
Global Warming = UK Mild Winter
Complete opposite pattern to last year = UK Mild Winter

etc, etc, etc.

I think forecasting the weather for the UK is a doddle ;-)

Excellent deduction Keith, whatever is happening elsewhere we ALWAYS end
up with the same Winter, MILD!
Suppose we should just get used to it, even average to rather cold
Winters are becoming a rarity, a cold one is unheard of these days and a
very cold one will never happen, not in our lifetime!

There seems to be more chance of seeing snow in November, March or April
than in Winter.
I record my highest snow depths for each year and since 1995 my highest
depth has been recorded in a non Winter month on seven occasions, what
does that tell you about our Winters!
Looks like 2008 could well be another

Highest falls:

1995 28/3 7.5cms
1996 19/11 12.5cms
1998 15/4 7.5cms
2001 21/3 8.0cms
2005 28/11 6.0cms
2006 2/3 5.0cms

Weston Coyney weather station (North Staffordshire) 220 metres asl

Hmm..

Since your station falls within my expertise I should come back to
this if I were not following something more immediately diverting.

I shall put it to one side though.

And post it to Weatherlawyer's home page.
