Weather stations

Hi. This is my first visit and post here. I'm not even sure if it's the right
group but here's my question. I've been interested in buying a weather station
for my back yard. The basics, temp, humidity, wind speed and direction, rain
gauge etc. Wireless. But I'm wonderin gif it will be worth it. I live on a 5,000
sq.ft building lot, with trees on two sides and houses on either side. I have no
access to my roof. Well, of course, there's access, but I'm retired and don't do
ladders and it's about 30-35 feet up. How high does one of these stations have
to be installed? Am I right in guessing that just putting it on a 10 foot pole
in my yard isn't going to give me any kind of accurate readings? Just like to
know before I throw a couple of hundred dollars away on one. Thanks.
