Will Hurricane Olivia hit Hawaii? Hurricane Olivia is currently a Category 3 Hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 115mph with some gusts reaching 140 mph. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) latest update, the hurricane is moving west at 12mph. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles from the centre and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles.
