Default Another lovely spring... sigh

One nice day (yesterday) and otherwise, rain every day this week. Been
pouring here since a T-storm rumbled through at 5 am... just lovely. At
least it hasn't been too hot.

Speaking of which, they are calling for scattered frost around here
tomorrow night. Yikes!

peace,

Same here on the rain/thunderstorms and most of a good day yesterday... but
with luck it will be a nice weekend (and no frost here!).

Not only is it not too hot, but anyone putting in a new lawn this spring has
lucked out.

Our break from the never ending 40's, fog, drizzle yesterday evening, lasted
1.25 hr. Sun FINALLY came out in Bar Harbor and Lamoine at 5PM sharp. By
6:15, with the sun lightly touching tree tops, as in December, it didn't
matter, and thus didn't count.

Yesterday I heard a radio met in Portland, (where they apparently got the
most of the day sunny) whining about this being not much of a break. I
always say: "Try being downeast---"

Yes this beats the heat, and yes, our 11 yr drought is being given another
assault. But downeast spring outdid itself this year. Would love, really
love seeing 60 deg! Great temp. Needs go little higher.

I think there will be scattered frost away from immediate coast this
weekend.

Yes, I feel the same when people in the valleys complain about a cold
snap. Not a summer goes by here where we don't have at least one day
with a *high* in the 50s in July or August....

We hit 35 yesterday am.. it's ironic that even though we are generally
most colder than the valleys, we usually miss the very late / early
frosts because of the elevation.

How low did others go over the weekend?

Really fine in Maine, rather cool for those who like this weekend to be a
sort of kick-off to summer, but I don't care about that. Just wanted to get
out of the endless G weather, and we did. The NW winds remained too heavy to
allow me to proceed with some of my spring planting for clients, but the
same wind also kept our frost advisories from coming true. Tried getting
caught up with work back log, visited some clients who were up here from
Phil. for the weekend, and got in a couple hikes in Acadia.

Now the G weather is about to return for an extended stay. Hmph. A little
more rain would be nice, but that stale easterly flow day after day is one
for the abominations file, as I like to say.
