Is there a source that will tell me how many clear days a particular region
(city) has had over some period of time? In particular, I'd like to know how many clear (reasonably cloudless) days we've had since Oct. 1, 2004. -- Wayne T. Jim His location is btwn San Fran and Reno and Reno/s Climate Reports do not report average sky cover. The local NWS office might have cooperative observer data closer to Nevada City. |

You can also see if there is a sponsored ClearSky Clock in your area. If so
you can get past forecasted data for cloud cover, seeing transparency, etc. If have found these forecast clocks to be very accurate. Here is the one for my observatory. http://cleardarksky.com/clmt/c/JATObPAct.html -JATO http://jatobservatory.org On Mon, 21 Feb 2005 18:58:57 -0600, Jim wrote: On Sun, 20 Feb 2005 11:43:58 GMT, "W. I think I read about this facility in a Sky&Telescope mag about 2 years
ago. How do I subscribe? Maybe the S&T site has some details. JATO jato wrote: You can also see if there is a sponsored ClearSky Clock in your area. Go to the bottom of the page and click on Clocks Home then read the page.
To get the feature I mentioned the clock you use must be a sponsored clock. -JATO On Tue, 22 Feb 2005 03:54:40 GMT, "What Sun? Jim Thanks. The reporting seems a bit erratic. For example, there is no Nov. data, and in Dec. they don't report cloudy. That may because Sacramento is the fog capital of California, and it's possible they can't see clouds! Interesting source though. -- Wayne T.
