The use of women's names started in 1953 and the present system of switching between male and female names started in 1978. Agki Male names in the Atlantic did not start 'til 1979. I've never read a reason for that delay. After all, Bud was named in the e. Pacific in '78, but no male names in the Atlantic 'til Bob in '79. Anyone know why? Scott |
