Mild Severe Weather [so far]? Myth or truth?

Have we had a mild severe weather since Jan 1 2006?
Is it my imagination, or does it seem there are fewer reports of
Tornadoes, high winds and hail this year [so far]?

If so, can someone explain what normally occurs by this time.

As of june 2 that it..
thanks,

P.S. I this the only ng to discuss weather or is their a more
appropriate one that has a lot of traffic??????

It depends where you are referring to the planet, your country or your
immediate location.

How can you be unaware that the northern hemisphere was covered in snow
a few weeks ago?

If so, can someone explain what normally occurs by this time.

January to June is sthe end of witer, all of spring and the start of
Summer in the north and the end of summer, all of autumn and the start
of winter in the south.

Britain has had an exceptionally wet May and a drought brought hose
pipe bans.

P.S. I this the only ng to discuss weather or is their a more
appropriate one that has a lot of traffic?

http://groups.google.co.uk/group/sci...gy/about?hl=en

For newsgroups that cover your location enter that location in the
search box. NE.weather is plagued with fools. If you live in the UK
uk.sci.weather is very busy as one would expect of a nation whose
greetings concern weather as much as if not more than health.

March and April (an January, to a less extent) where busy and well
above the three year average those months. Conversely, May was quiet.
So, year-to-date, 2006 is more active than 2005, but on par with 2004
and 2003.

I guess a person can't really appreciate severe weather unless they're
in it or really close to it.

I.E. nothing big has happened near me so things must be less frequent.

Yeah, I've made that error.

THANKS for your reply

I think we all do it. Thus the stories about having to walk to school,
barefooted and in the snow, uphill both ways, 40mph wind in our face.

You had schools? I had to walk in those conditions
naked to get to the only tree in the county just to have
someone to talk to. Then one day the tree and I had a
silly argument and it never talked to me again. ;-)

Cheers,
Russell

You had talking trees?

All I had where clay tablets to turn homework in on. Do you know how
bloody hard it is to properly bake a clay tablet so that it survives
long enough to make it *to* school intact?

You had clay?

We had to scrawl stuff on our skin, get a good sunburn,
and peel it off to turn it in!

You all walked? We were not upright when I was going to school. We got
on all fours or rolled to school. We also didn't know how to capture
or make fire so we would eat everything raw.

Today is much better.
