Temperatures on the Antarctic Peninsula are increasing at a rate of 3.4°C
per century, more than five times the global mean. At the same time, the
region's ice shelves have retreated and collapsed, with an area of more than
14,000 square kilometers disappearing within the past two decades. Ice shelf
retreat has followed the southward migration of the ?9°C mean annual
isotherm, referred to as the 'climatic limit of ice shelf stability' (Figure
1). Thus, present-day ice shelf retreats on the Antarctic Peninsula have
been linked to increased atmospheric temperature [Vaughan et al., 2003].

And then the Antarctic wouldn't need to completely melt to innundate all
of the worlds coastlines. even a 1% melt would be a complete disaster.

Duh........ Scott... have you noticed that they are equator
spots..... Huh???/ They didn't form in the higher or lower latitudes
and move to the equator...... They formed there......

CYCLE 23 SPOTS still Vendicar!!!!!

The couple of extremely tiny Cycle 24 spots didn't even come
close , and vanished quickly..... ... it's overlap time Scott....cycle
24 really is having a problem getting up and running.....

I hope cycle 24 starts really gets going good soon and continues our
Global Warming...... would hate to have Global Cooling. Been sort of
level in temperature for the past eight years.... maybe even a touch
cooler..... not good.
