Joint USAF/NOAA Report of Solar and Geophysical Activity 25 Mar 2009

STATUS REPORT
Date Released: Wednesday, March 25, 2009
Source: Space Environment Center (NOAA)

Product: Report of Solar-Geophysical Activity
Issued: 2009 Mar 25 2200 UTC
Prepared jointly by the U.S. Dept. of Commerce, NOAA,
Space Weather Prediction Center and the U.S. Air Force.

Joint USAF/NOAA Report of Solar and Geophysical Activity
SDF Number 084 Issued at 2200Z on 25 Mar 2009

IA. Analysis of Solar Active Regions and Activity from 24/2100Z to 25/2100Z:
Solar activity was very low. No flares were observed and the disk is
spotless.

IB. Solar Activity Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be very low.

IIA. Geophysical Activity Summary 24/2100Z to 25/2100Z: The geomagnetic
field was quiet to unsettled with isolated active periods from 25/ 0000 to
0600. The increase in activity was due to a rise in solar wind speed and
intermittent southward Bz.

IIB. Geophysical Activity Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be
quiet to unsettled with isolated active periods possible on days one and two
(26-27 March). Day three (28 March) is expected to be quiet.

III. Event Probabilities 26 Mar-28 Mar
