[snip rant which doesn't make out a case for the claim that Turnbull 'must' unequivocally oppose the 'idiotic' ETS and a Dark Green Future...] Firstly, I agree that he should take this course because I'd like the ALP to be forced into negotiating a better one with the Greens and independents. Of course, most supporters of the official conservatives know that this would be a massive own goal because a) they could not win the next election this way b) large swathes of business would be totally ****ed off at getting a much less business friendly ETS and those who had done the right thing would have to wait longer to be rewarded -- and they'd hate the Libs for extending the period of uncertainty and possibly cutting them out of what was going on O/S Turnbull would be finished as contender but nobody else would want to be leader. These explain why not only must Turnbull not take this course, but why he won't. Fran |
