Nope, it's not that. Well not yet anyway. Scientists are watching the
gulf stream closely and I haven't heard of any recent changes.

The UK's weather is determined by whether the jet stream is to the North
or South of the country. It blocks the cold weather from the Arctic so
if it's to the North the weather is warmer than if it is to the South.
It tends to get jammed so once it's in position it stays there for some
time.
