Not so abnormal. Strong extra tropical systems may appear to develop
an eye on a satellite image. Diffrent reasons though.

intense topical storm devolves a eye due to atmospheric...

Raw Weather Satellite images

Do any of the folks in this group use a radio to gather weather data?
If you do, what radio do you have? What software/hardware do you use
to decode the images and data?

The reason I posted the subject was so real people could present a
personal guess where Hurricane Gustav will make land fall. Not so much
what computer models suggest.

For the sake of discussion, anyone have any guesses where Hurricane
Gustav will make landfall? A bit early I know but what the heck, I'll
toss out my guess and say 25-50 miles east of New...
