Frozen massacre

Had a look at my pond yesterday and noticed 5 dead frogs floating on the
surface. I managed to scoop out a dozen dead frogs today. :-(

Ice flow at Bewdley

WOW! Photos in the local newspaper shows the river severn was frozen
over at Bewdley.

I noticed yesterday that the ice on a city centre canal is thick enough
for people to walk over it. I cannot remember the last time that
happened, maybe Dec 81.

Heavy snow for about an hour from 8.30am, now moderate. Haven't been
out yet to measure snow depth or see temp. A guess from looking at the
shed roof it's doubled the depth to about 4 inches.

What a difference a week makes !

This time next week when the Atlantic air is fully in, the temps will be
up to 10c or higher. The weather will amaze people that a week earlier
it was -4c at max and plenty of snow!

29 years difference

I was thinking about the last time it was this cold and snowy in Dec
1981. The temp in the living struggled up to 63F and at night plummeted
to 46F. In the bedrooms even colder temps down to 40F....
