Default Next two week's weather beginning 09/10/05

================================================== ===============

This forecast summary is my *PERSONAL OPINION* of how the weather may unfold
next week. I will take no responsibility whatsoever for any actions arising from
its use. It is provided freely in the spirit of freedom and the great love for
meteorology that I personally enjoy and wish to share freely with others.

================================================== ===============

Summary valid for Sunday 09/10/05 to Saturday 15/10/05
TOI (time of issue) Thursday 06/10/05 2000 UK local time

This summary is based on a quick appraisal of the GFS, JMA, ECMWF, UKMO, FAX,
and ENS (NCEP ensemble) labelled charts available from the superb
http://www.wetterzentrale.de/topkarten

Moderate to high confidence for a changeable spell of weather with heavy rain in
places, especially in the north and west. Low confidence on details after
midweek.

On Sunday a very deep and intense low will move quickly to the west of Scotland
by the end of the day spreading rain and south to southwesterly gales into
Scotland and Northern Ireland. Temperatures above normal. England and Wales look
like being cloudy with some occasional rain in the north and possibly a few
sunny intervals in the southeast. Temperatures above normal. Frost unlikely.

By Monday Scotland and Northern Ireland will have turned brighter and colder
with sunny intervals and showers in a moderating fresh westerly wind. However,
the cold front will then be moving SE across England and Wales bringing bands of
very heavy rain with the risk of localised flooding. SE England could stay
mainly dry and cloudy. Temperatures above normal with an increasing south to
southwest wind.

On Tuesday the front moves into the southeast with still a moderate probability
of some heavy rain, the rain will finally clear from other parts of England and
Wales leaving very wet conditions. A few showers elsewhere and as the wind drops
out on Tuesday night it could turn foggy with the chance of a frost in a few
places, especially in the north. Turning colder generally.

For the rest of the week further bands of rain alternating with sunny spells
will move across from the west. Winds not as strong as earlier in the week.
Rather cold generally with the chance of frost and fog at night if the skies
clear. Most rain looks like being in western and northern areas where some heavy
falls are likely, especially over high ground. Possibly turning dry for a while
over the weekend. Confidence low.

Trend for the following week beginning Sunday 16th October. Staying unsettled
with fresh to strong west to northwest winds at times bringing bands of very
heavy rain across the country. Some quieter interludes with frost and fog at
night. Temperatures near or above normal at times in the south, but gradually
turning colder in the north with some snow likely in the Scottish mountains by
the end of the week. Confidence low.

Will (Chief forecaster USW).
