Will,
Lovely day all day here in Plympton. Stan "Will Hand" wrote in message ... "Keith (Southend)" wrote in message ... Jon O Rourke wrote: Max so far at Heathrow 20.7°C at 1334Z. BTW I think all Christmas stock should be removed when the temperature rises above 20°C :-) Jon. Just come back from a lovely walk, no car required from where I live, not quite the views that Will has, but nice to be on my door step. Refresh the front page of my website to see one of the pictures just taken. The high rise buildings of Southend-on-Sea can be seen in the distance. Max today 18.8°c Hi Keith, What a lovely picture of the English countryside in early autumn, you can almost smell the grass! Thanks. Cloud cleared here completely at 1645 to leave a lovely end to the day. Cheers, Will. -- |

And glorious sun to the south of you
![]() Stan "Will Hand" wrote in message ... "Graham Easterling" wrote in message ... "Tom Bennett" wrote in message oups.com... The low cloud cleared here around an hour ago and the day is shaping-up to be absolutely glorious. And in Penzance. Cloudless all day so far, It's 19.5C already, with wall-to-wall sunshine and a gentle easterly drift. 19.6 degrees at noon, so should reach 20degrees. This is unbelievable, sun to the east of me, sun to the west of me and now the cloud is rolling in again and the mist thickening here at 1540 after a few brief glimpses of a yellow disc in the sky. Temp still 13.9 deg C Bring on the clear polar air in winter with snow showers :-) Will. -- |

After two fine sunny days here it was grey and dull today. Fortunately
I had seen the forecast so headed up to the Moray coast. There was nothing but grey murk as far as Keith (about 45 miles N.W. of Aberdeen) then the cloud cleared and by Fochabers ( about 10 miles further on) there was brilliant sunshine. Clear blue skies all afternoon at Elgin and Lossiemouth with a high of 17C. Meanwhile the max back here in Aberdeen was 12.3C. Just one of the last eight days here has exceeded 12.5C which, given it's supposed to be October not November, is pathetic. Furthermore only two days this month have reached 15C - another pitiful statistic given that the average absolute monthly maximum is 18C and that 15C was not reached at all last October. 20C is seldom reached in Aberdeen in October nowadays yet old monthly weather reports show that, up to 1973, this was a reasonably regular occurrence (every 3-4 years or so).
