Default Weatherlink and Vantage Pro2 question

Dear all,

I've been having a problem to use Weatherlink and the Davis data logger with
Vantage Pro2 (6152EU). The data logger doesn't appear to be communicating
with the console (this problem did not exist with Vantage Pro).

Here's what I've been doing:

1. put the console in setup mode by pressing DONE+down key
2. remove console batteries
3. apply data logger to the console
4. reapply batteries

What goes on next is that i get the console welcoming message (or just the
first bits of it), but this does not scroll at all and I can't get access to
any of the next settings ('receiving from' etc). I've tried this several
times but there appears to be no sign of success. Has anyone had a similar
problem?

Also, do I need to do something so that I don't lose my old data in the
C:\Weatherlink folder? (I've collected some past months' data in that folder
when using Vantage Pro). Do I need to do something in order to keep the
continuation of my data flow normally?

Any advice would be helpful.

How long did you leave between 2 and 4? (I'm presuming any mains
adapter connection was also removed). Sometimes it needs at least
10-15 minutes powered completely off (very occasionally even longer eg
overnight) to reset the unit.

Do a careful visual check to make sure that none of the console pins
for interfacing to the logger have become bent.

The 6510 logger is fully compatible with the VP2 so there's no issue
on this score.

Does the console perform as expected with the logger removed? If so
then there may be a fault with the logger (or conceivably with the
console interface to the logger.)

No. Assuming that you're going to be using the same installation of
the Weatherlink software on the PC then there's no reason not to
simply continue as before (assuming that the sensor complement hasn't
changed) but with the VP2 console hosting the logger rather than VP1.
