Default Austrian Weather

Hi,

Just to let you know I have finally moved to Austria from the UK and if it
is OK I will post info about the weather here. Hopefully some lovely snow
weather.
I have moved to a place called Muellbach in the alps at 850 m( a Ski
resort). the leaves at the moment are lovely and brown and we have already
had several white frosts. When the sun goes behind the mountains at about 5
o'clock the temp just suddenly drops!!!!

My website is www.austrianfamilyholidays.co.uk where I will soon have a
gallary with snow pictures on!!

Thanks

Nigel

Nigel,

This would be great. Do you have a weather station that can give a live feed
of the latest information ?

Hi,

Sorry not yet-depends how the bookings go I might be able to afford one in
the future!!!

I would like to have one but at the moment I have just got a small weather
station with an outside probe which says it is weather proof but not rain
proof- work that one out!!!!

So I will be able to give min and max temp and how deep the snow is!!!

I will like to give a live feed from my web camera- anyone got any good
software to recommend that is free?/

Thanks

Nigel

Nigel
there is an NG called alt.comp.periphs.webcam which, despite what you may
think, contains tons of questions and answers about all aspects of webcams.
I am sure they could point you (no pun intended) in the right direction.

Good luck with your venture and dont forget to bend ze knees!
Geoff

Nigel,

I have an outdoor sensor which is "weatherproof". To combat the rain I have
it placed in a sandwich bag - seems to work to give a rough guide of outdoor
temperature.

As for the webcam, many here will recommend Kabcam -
http://www.kabsoftware.com/kabcam/ (not free but very cheap). Will Hand or
Alan White may be able to help here.

Costs USD24.95, easy to use and set up and does everything that I
needed.

Now that would be nice to have on the doorstep - I'd probably lose my job
spending all winter on the slopes!
