:-( Seems very localised in the N-S strip on the sat pics (still there
on the 1000 one in the same place). I hope it shifts before the front
comes near, otherwise it's another big letdown by the forecast.

Edmund

Unbroken sunshine in Wincanton Somerset, 17.6C and rising, despite it
being quite windy.

Still completely cloudy here in Haytor with occasional light drizzle at 1215.
Temperature a whopping 13.7 deg C. dewpoint 13 deg C.
Everywhere is very damp, the inside of my car was sodden and I had to wipe the
steering wheel with a cloth before driving.

Just thought I'd look at the forecast on the Met Office web site for Devon
issued at 0659.

" Dry with plenty of sunshine making it feel unseasonably warm, despite strong
the southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 20 deg C (68 deg F). "

Sunshine symbol shown over Dartmoor!!!!!

Wind speed here estimated at 10m agl ESE 12 knots and that is my most exposed
direction !!!

Ho hum, guess it wasn't easy at issue time.

Will.

Whey hey! The drizzle has stopped and the cloud is thinning fast, with a bit
of luck the sun even might come out in a bit. Temperature at 12:30, 15.8C
and rising.

I don't think we will be breaking any heat records today. Thank goodness.

What a disappointment, it's dull and drizzly here too! After the promised
warmth and sunshine, I was looking forward to being able to get down the
beach and have a mess around in the surf, but alas, not today - bah!

Currently at 09:45, 14.3C, RH 93%, DP 13.1C, 1006.8 mb (S), Wind 3.0 mph

Much better day here yesterday as well. Max of 18.2 yesterday afternoon in
prolonged sunshine and only a moderate breeze. Started off OK today, plenty
of sunshine until noon, but windy, gusts to 30mph. Reached 17.9 before the
cloud. Now cooler with extensive low cloud and hill fog.

Went to Porthleven this morning when it was still sunny, and should have had
the camera. Very large swell crashing in, not a single surfer out, it was
simply too dangerous.

Showing signs of clearing now, the sun is breaking through but still a
lot of cloud around. Looks clearest to the SE and still very grey to
the SW and W. Nowhere near as warm as forecast yet.

Sun's come out again after 2 hours of rather misty weather, the wind has
eased somewhat, and temperature has reached 18.1. Still just below
yesterday's value.

Mostly clear now too (1/8 Cu), but it took its time! Made it up to 17C
but still frustrating with all these reports of unbroken sun and 20C+
from all around the country.

Not here Edmund. Still 8/8 cloud and bright looking east. Temp has climbed to
14.7 deg C and vis has improved and the drizzle has stopped. Think I'll go out
for a walk and enjoy the views while it lasts. One doesn't live on Dartmoor for
sunshine and warmth :-)

Looking at the 1400 sat, the muck has largely disappeared from this
area but there still seems to be a lot of it over parts of south east
Wales, especially around the Brecon Beacons, plus patches floating
around to the NW of me (which I can see on the horizon).
That front over Ireland seems to be making its way into your area now
(here tonight?)
