I think it is a Met Office experiment. It's called stealth rain and
falls in such a way as to be invisible to radar. :-)

I have had 11mm in the last 4 hours or so and my WS currently shows 5mm
per hour. On a visual check, this sounds about right.

The rain has eased off a little here. The last two hours has only seen
5mm and it is currently falling at 1mm per hour.

He he and what is the source of those hits? A rather large proportion
of hits to the weather pages of my site come from a Met Office
firewall machine...

There was never going to be any rain, see my previous post.
Most people used yesterdays forecast changing their firework display
plans.
Sadly, People are clueless and suckers with our forecasts in this country.
Terrible Media Forecasts again.

As forecasts go this one has been pretty grim. As recently as this morning
they were forecasting "a washout" for firework night in the south east.
We've had none and there are clear skies and it is a mild 12.7C. Luckily it
wasn't forecast as a dry warm evening and it ended up a washout1! It really
would have hit the fan then. Perhaps it's a reverse psychology forecast -
predict what most people least want then they are p;easantly surprised. ;-)

Talking of hits, Keith, am I the only one that is finding your site
difficult to load and keep getting redirected to Java. It's been doing it
for ages and I don't get any probs with any other sites. Thoughts , anyone?

Can confirm, loads of fireworks went off as planned here in North
Devon, despite dire warnings of 'wash-outs'

Some drizzly rain, but nothing heavy as yet

Now i flick across to the BBC News site, and they have an article there
about warnings of flooding

Well we have 10.2 mm in the last 4 hours or so and it is still raining steadily.

OK that's diddly-squat for up here, but the moor can take no more, it's
saturated, so if we do get any heavy stuff (50mm falls) then there are going to
be big problems.

Hi Dave,

I used Frontpage to write the homepage on my site and 'played' for want
of a better word, with Java. I've been meaning to revamp my whole site
but it is going to be a mammoth task, and as yet I have not had the
time. I have a copy of Dreamweaver, but need to learn how to use it,
before I can start building things up again. My site has become a bit
'messy' and needs sorting out somewhat. I spend a bit to much time
decoding synops, it's a shame that part wasn't automatic :-(

But going back to yor question, yes you probably will need to load Java..
http://www.java.com/en/
Certainly with Firefox it requires the plugin, I thought IE included it.
I also can't display it at work as they have disables certain things,
hence at the bottom of the page I have a link that says 'Non-Active'.

Other excuses, my computer has been a bit unreliable and still crashes
and gets it's knickers in a twist with some applications.

Oh well, such is life :-)
