The radar seems to be fixed, but it looks like nothing more than some
scattered patchy light rain or drizzle.

I don't think it has been fixed, that rain is far too patchy for such an
organised frontal band with embedded convection (last visible satellite image
before darkness) over the sea to the west. It also does not fit in with my
"ground truth" obs. I wouldn't trust the radar ATM.

Mmm? Comparing it with the latest IR Satellite image I would say it's
not far out, although I would expect more echos over Northern Ireland.
Any observers reporting rain there atm?

The radar has certainly tied in with what's been happening in Cornwall (west
of Truro)

Also, I know there's been very little rain on Scilly today.

Still 1mm here in Penzance. Certainly a bit more on the Moors, but just
slightly damp at sea level.

Default [WR] Haytor 5/11/05 (Radar under-reading a lot)

1953 GMT

Rate 1.5 mm/h
Total rain 8.4 mm

Radar at 1930 GMT had zero rainfall rate over us (as far as I can tell squinting
at the Met Office maps). Actual ground truth was 1.5 mm/h

It has been continuous moderate rain now for over 3 hours (occasionally heavy).

Yes it shows zero rainfall in Fleet, Hampshire too, but I've just been out
for a run and it rained from start to finish. Only light rain though.

Got a nice view of about 1,000 fireworks displays from the top of Firs Hill,
I could see every display in Fleet, Farnborough and Camberley
simultaneously. Quite a sight.
