Well those independent channels were always a joke but the BBC weather
programme has become the Italia Conti school of all round entertainers.
Helen Young writing childrens books, Louise Lear presenting make over
programmes, Dan Corbet appearing in 'Jack and the Beanstalk' as the rear
end of the cow with the main part of the cow being played by Carol
Driftwood.

Whatever next? Everton Fox in 'Guys & Dolls, Darren Betts 'Seven forecasters
for seven outlooks' and possibly Philip Avery in La Cage aux Folles ?

Lawrence , you should expect it. The BBC are a different ball game now. And
a bad one at that in my opinion.
Thank god for SKY. Gimme some Americanisation anyday to break free the BBC
'Chains' that want to preserve all that is bad about this country.

No Danny I'm going to their web pages and clicking on

Health and Culture.

I never realised weather had a "culture" I thought it help shape culture.
However they have an article on how the Aborigines have accumulated 18,000
generations of Weather experience. In fact they are so in touch with nature
and advanced in meteorology that they actually launched the first boomerang
weather satellite from woolagong in 1066 which coincides with the Norman
invasion -spooky eh.

Maybe those chains that stop Woolworths selling guns and bullets to any old
Joe so that my grandchidren can exercise the right to get gunned down in the
playground?

ROFL

I *really* must watch the BBC TV weather now!
Sounds as if it might be fun.

And what on earth has the BBC got to do with that?

Have you watched Francis on Sky recently? I don't think so.

Yesterday evening, their new superduper BBC-chasing 3D graphics were
in their element as he swooped around the country at 100,000 miles an
hour and a magnification of about 10 times. As he did so, he
mentioned all the rain expected over NW Britain and Ireland. Fine so
far... then he added that there would be a few showers over England.
But what did we get as he zooomed southwards? Graphics of continuous
pouring rain all over the screen and all over the South of England
(nothing like how you'd expect a shower representation to look!) -
apparently contradicting what he kept saying about the "odd shower".

When oh when will they learn... all of them have now caught the stupid
graphics bug, it seems. :(

No cheers at all,

Dave

Nothing, it was irony - something else the BBC get but the Americans don't.

Gimme some Americanisation anyday !

Dave, I've given up with TV weather forecasts almost completely, unless I see
them by accident. Almost because I still think the Regional ones are still
useful, like David Braine who is superb IMO. Don't watch them is my advice and
tell the BBC/ITV/SKY why you've stopped watching them. I tell everyone I meet
now to use the InterNet if they can for weather information.
