well not being one to show off I hate saying that here's one I took
earlier 16:15 to be precise.
http://www.turnerhome.org/photos/08-03-im/im-50.JPG
It's the view looking wsw over the Sava Centre Car park which flooded this
afternoon due the Global warming. Actually it was the Icelands freezer
section experiencing a severe power failure.
It's strange though even at times of disaster things can manifest a
melting quality.

Show off ;-)

Thanks waffly - if I may call you that - it's just a slice of life from
exciting Sydenham.

Here's some Sydenham facts

Ivor Novello lived their not too far in fact from Earnest Shackleton's old
family home
In 1980 Sydenham was twinned with Beirut until that is Beirut pulled out due
to the bad publicity Sydenham was giving it.
Crime is so rife in Sydenham now that the police dogs go around in pairs!-
in fact the police Helicopters go around in pairs as well!
Recently in a stab at improving the culture profile of Sydenham a subsidised
Poetry shop was opened by Lewisham Council - it was called the Ezzra Pound
shop.
Fly tippers now refuse to tip here saying it's giving them a bad name.
That's enough.

Hmm dunno about Sydenham but this afternoon I enjoyed a fanatastic sunset with
Haytor Rocks silhouetted against the red skyline. Alas I didn't have my camera.
But I just stood there listening to the silence and for a moment lost myself in
the splendour of nature. It's moments like that when you get an inkling of what
life is really about and its not about money, jobs, cars, religion, politics,
the Internet, it's about finding one's place in the world and learning what it
truly means to be alive, ultimately it is about Love.

Will.

Deep red sunset here this evening, picture does not do it any kind of
justice. Just SW of Benson, Oxon.

Similarly *gorgeous* deep red & pink sunset here in deepist ruril Nofik.
Alas, the battery was down on my camera.

As I understand that reponse I take it it's another case of "lets love
Americans". I really can't see any other rationale in your attitude.

Well two things Will. About finding ones place in the world - what does
Sydenham say about me?
As for love? Well I hardly know you! Could we start with dinner first.

Lawrence it was Love with a capital L, not love!
There's a huge difference.
I've never been to Sydenham, dunno where it is in London even so cannot comment.

I'm never out early enough to grab the sunrise, but while we're all in a
"red" place, there are a few old sunsets on my weather pics page:
