Dont often see a northerly that potent with a high pressure
dominating the atlantic like that linked upto greenland.

Look at the size of that sc.... High pressure 0-o

Following the 1000mb contour and reading off the underlying 500mb heights,
you can see from the UKMO chart that the thickness is down to 520dm over
London, so even a fair chance of sleet/snow down here.

Yes, as forecast by the Frosted Earth long range forecast last November 2004
and the first part of December is also going to start cold but then later it
will be mild with an average winter to follow.

Average is good, good snow events in average
i dont care about the whole winter aslong as i get the odd
