Conditions at Dawn?

Hi all...

I'm in Folkestone, Kent. Just found out Son has been struck by
lightning whilst sledging in S.Wales. He's ok, awake, a little deaf and a
few minor burns. He's been airlifted to Swansea. Was going to belt down
there but staff at Swansea Hospital talked me out of it.
Will be leaving at first light. Anyone know conditions on the major
routes? Is it mainly Devon or has S.Wales been really clobbered too? I've
been on the road all day sans radio and could do with catching up a bit. BBC
news site appears to be down at the mo...

Sorry to hear that.
I live 10 miles west of Swansea and the conditions here are OK for travel.
He's either in Singleton or Morriston hospital. Morriston hospital is just
off the M4, so no problems at all. Singleton is in Swansea itself, again
you'll have no problems. Both are on major roads and the weather here
hasn't been that severe.

All the best for your son.

The software said to install Win98, NT4 or better; so I installed OS X.

Les, all main routes are fine ATM. My guess is that your son has been
taken to Morriston Hospital - and that is junction 46 - then first
turning left and follow the signs. The hospital is quite near the
motorway but is a bit of a warren to negotiate! Need any more help?

Cheers

Thanks.. yes he's at Morriston. Will be heading out at dawn. Seemed
wiser than hurtling down over night after already being on the road for 8
hours today with work. He's safe and drowsy with 24 hour nursing so daylight
hurtling seemed the better option..

Making a file to show Joe just how damn lucky he was. One site recons a
50/50 mortality rate for lightning strike! Has anyone got the radar of the
Preseli mountains area for 1150 GMT. I'd like to take it down to show him...
