[WR] Phew, what a scorcher!

Hi, everyone,

Screen max in Copley village 11.5C today with another sunny day, 6.4hr.

I suspect down at Copley Lead Mill the max will be lower, it was 3.2C
lower yesterday, so perhaps only 8C there but still very good for early
February.

Early days yet, but perhaps the 18th consecutive month with above
average temperatures coming up?

Best wishes,

Ken Cook

Phew, what a scorcher!

A mild and sunny day here with max of 10.9C, giving a range of 17.3C
over the past 5 days. The temperature has fallen away since sunset
though and is now down to 3.7C.

Had it not been for a fall of 0.6mm on the 27th Jan, today would have
been the 15th consecutive day without measurable precipitation. The
last time snow or sleet fell was on 29th December - so probably the
longest snow free period in winter since 1990.

Down here in upland Devon, just 3.0 deg C max.
Temperatures have been below normal up here this winter so far.

Up here we managed 9.9C today, looking at the graph it looks to have been
a bright sunny day. Nice steady increase, flattening off then a steady
decrease with the air moving a bit during the warmer part of the day.

I was down at St James's Park, coming back very foggy down in the town
but crystal clear up here. The old inversion still seems to be in place.

Temperatures have been below normal up here this winter so far.

I really must write the script to extract monthly and daily means from my
7 years of data. I think we have been about average.
