Default [wr] 2nd day of Flooding for Aberfeldy

The Tay burst its banks once again this morning flooding the valley floor
and causing problems from Loch Tay right down to Dunkeld. My road into town
was again under 6 foot of flowing water and the alternative route down to
Kenmore and along the other side of the valley was tricky and still is with
many areas of up to a foot of water to plow through.

If anyone is familiar with Kenmore, Loch Tay is so full that it is breaking
waves onto the road, so it has advanced some 30 feet or so up the beach and
right up to the walls at the road. I drove to Stirling today and the Forth
is very similar.

Its no fun living next to a roaring burn at this time, having watched that
wretched "7 days that took us to make this thing about weather" prog and
then having to peer in the dark at the violent Burn to see it was ok as the
rain poured down. I had another fitful night's sleep.

rant: Why is it that when a programme maker shows Tornado footage that they
feel they can only show maybe 10 seconds top - why can't they leave it one
for even a minute. They seem unable to let you get a fix on any aspect so
that you can judge windspeeds - it infuriates me and it is right across
every Tornado tv prog.? /rant

Two more interesting but worrying days ahead and then I can sleep easy for a
bit.

Rainfall so far for jan

1. 19.1 mm
2. 3.5 mm
3. 7.1 mm
4. 12.0 mm
5. 8.7 mm
6. 35.0 mm
7. 28.7 mm
8. 12.8 mm
9. 29.0 mm
