![]() I note there's a polar low being pulled into the system south of Iceland. A colder flow than expected perhaps - and an increased likelyhood of snow later if that's the case. Alex. Cross section from the GFS at 55N http://weather.ou.edu/~oscarvdv/maps...ss55_eur24.png http://weather.ou.edu/~oscarvdv/maps...,30,36 ,42,48 shows the cold air advection in the west and the warm storm core. Thundery severe blizzards? I note there's no kitchen sinks quite yet David. ;-) Alex "Waghorn" wrote in message ... I note there's a polar low being pulled into the system south of Iceland. Quite noisy here now after a blustery afternoon. I hope our power
cables last out until after 'Holby City'. SW is the direction from which we are most exposed so if the wind continues veering without increasing in strength too quickly...but I think that's wishful thinking. Currently, temperature 6.0°C falling at 1.8°C/hr, wind gusting to 50mph, SW, increasing, maximum gust 52mph at 18:00, barometer 986.4mb steady, rainfall since midnight 4.4mm. -- Alan White Twenty-eight miles NW of Glasgow.
