Estimated snow coverage for Greece
 

Good evening all.

Since we're in for a nice spell of 'bad' weather during the next 2-3 days, I
thought I could send you the estimated snow cover for Greece (BOLAM output).
A tough one for forecasters really, as I find some similarities with March
25th-26th 1998:

Snow is falling in the northernmost suburbs of Athens right now.

Rain turned to sleet here at dusk and it's still pouring down. Small flakes
visible, especially on the car windows. Snow in the northern suburbs of
Athens and a good portion of eastern and northeastern continental Greece,
the Peloponnese and semimountainous areas of the Aegean isles and Crete.
Traffic is blocked in some remote areas due to snow and ice. Thessaloniki is
expecting its snow during the following hours.
