uk.sci.weather (UK Weather) (uk.sci.weather) For the discussion of daily weather events, chiefly affecting the UK and adjacent parts of Europe, both past and predicted. The discussion is open to all, but contributions on a practical scientific level are encouraged.

He seems to understand the word "tsunami"!

His fault? You lease a house to unruly tennants and they chop the walls
out to suit their furniture, hifi's and whatnot. Then blame the
architect for the roof falling in on them when they had all their
friends around partying?

Yes, the wrong people got killed; what the survivors should do now is go
around to their respective houses of parliament and chop all their
leaders' heads off. Then go around to all the logging companies and all
the other big businesses that have damaged the environment and chop the
heads of those responsible. Then perhaps it won't happen again for
another generation or two.

But that's my concept of amelioration.

Might be god's too?

The earth is a powerhouse in which deadly things are caged. You don't
take charge of it lightly. And you don't fkaround in it irresponsibly.

.... and you don't go increasing a major greenhous gas by a third and
expect no reaction. The tsunami was a warning from God. Ignore
it at your peril!

Cheers, Alastair.

I think God, the one I worship at least, would tell people about things
a
little more gently. That's the trouble with global warmers, you go in
for procrastination too heavily.

You have yet to prove that petroleum is a fossil fuel like coal and
sulphur.

Well, at least I can see now where a model run needs some human input to
correct it.

Did you see last night's horizon? (I think it will be on again soon.)

Apparently Einstein realised his theories were flawed. Or at least was
trying to get around a flaw. Shame he had no one to talk to about it.

(I was still in nappies then of course.) Suppose that what is in the
general public domain now was what he had access to in the 1950's...

It is possible to see what he was getting at: It is impossible to think
of the sun as a nuclear furnace for example....

And variable stars might turn out to be a play of light through the
channels for it's egress from a solar system....

Sort of iridium flashes...

But that's ....

Anyway it's a good job God doesn't expect us to play dice with him. Nice
of him in fact, to make it kid's stuff isn't it?
