I hate being the bearer of bad news, I really do.
We've all seen the undoubtedly most premature - in every sense of the word! - headline. Now, the following toppler has appeared on the WetterZentrale: http://www2.wetter3.de/Animation_18_UTC/150_30.gif http://64.246.48.81/wz/pics/Rtavn961.gif putting an end, once again, to the snow dreams of Presutti, Pratridge, Sarre, Snow Hoper, Easterly, and countless others. However, with pathetic little comments like: "I think we can safely say that for consistency, the GFS is all over the place." the community is, at the very least, trying to add at least SOME degree of optimism to the whole scene. Oh well, at least the Slavs will be happy with that set up.:-) D. |

Thanks Mike, that cheers me up a bit.:-) Plus, remember how quick 1947 was to cool down after an also very much mild early-mid January - even though I wasn't actually there? Do you agree that the people over at The Weather Outlook discussion forum once again have egg on their faces though, if just temporarily, against what I am suggesting? D. |

Look, they're young, they're eager, they're inexperienced. They're pointing at the wrong charts. - It's called premature gesticulation! Sorry Lawrence, but someone's got to do it ;-) Dave |

Brian Gaze is about early-mid 30s, I recall him *or somebody else* once saying on the website forum, 2. Will Hand I'm not *that* sure about, but, looking at his website, it gave the impression that he was a little bit older. I would hardly call these two men "young" in the negative, almost condescending way that you have employed that particular word to your use. They remain great forecasters though, in spite of their former forecasted flaws, and whatever age they are. D. |

The majority of the members on TWO aren't 'young' actually. Desperate for an
easterly yes, but not particularly young. It's a myth I tell ya ;-) Best Regards Joe "Dave.C" wrote in message k... 1. If there were emoticons I would now be using the "embarrassed" face picture. However, instead, you can have this - :-) . On a MUCH MORE serious note though, Andrew Bond has just posted this, regarding the current coming "cold snap", which, in itself, deserves another :-( : "GFS, but the input data (BUFR) from the satellites such as MODIS is also provided to the other modellers. As such, I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the others follow suit :-(" D. |

Apologies for my abruptness but I hope some share my feelings! Richard |
