Summary: there is a connection, it is not the only factor determining UK
weather and not even the strongest one, and it is not as simple as "copy
a weather report, replace timing".

So, just because they're having a wee bit of snow now doesn't mean we
will in, say, a week's time then?

Right conclusions. The low pressures they have will or will not come our
way,
(this particular one seems to go north of UK), and even if they come,
because of age and the
long trip over the ocean, they may cause a diiferent kind of weather
over here.

If *some weather* is travelling eastwards and arrives at the east coast
of america, then it got there overland. If it continues travelling
until it gets to the uk, it got there over the ocean. I think that
would make it a different type of weather ... I hope ...

Hmm. If a wind flows over the Rockies it dries out, then it flows over
the plains, then it eventually gets to the east coast then comes here as
a wet wind once more....

But what tends to happen is that low pressure moves west from Central
Africa moves clockwise around the centre of the Atlantic and blows out
over the North Sea maybe even entering the Arctic.

It will depend a great deal on sunshine but who knows how much more on a
transduction of power in the relationship of the earth and moon.

You could, I suppose, call that moonshine. There has to be something in
the balance that leaks out when two planets share an orbit neither
belongs in alone.
