For those of you who missed last night's spectacular NLC event - here's
a pic. At one point the NLC was as high as Polaris here (35 degrees) and covering most of the eastern segment before fading into the morning twilight. http://llandru.servehttp.com/Images/06030021.jpg The star is Capella with beta aurigae also visible.
