Melting Arctic Ice

Robert Grumbine's NOAA sea ice site has not been updated over the last few
days while, AFAIK, the hardware is being serviced. As a result, my web pages
where you can compare the current Arctic ice with that over the last five
years has not been working properly. I have made a temporary fix, so that if
you select any day this year you will get the current map from FNMOC (US
Navy). To see this go to
http://www.abmcdonald.freeserve.co.uk/north.htm .
My other similar page at
http://www.abbemac.fsnet.co.uk/north.htm has not been changed.

At present the ice seems to be about similiar to that last year which was a
record.
The maximum melt happens during the first weeks of September so we will soon
know if this year will be another record.

HTH,

Cheers, Alastair.

Bob's NOAA site is back in action, so I have removed the frig from my pages.

Cheers, Alastiar
