Good evening, everyone.
It snowed in the mountains around Athens earlier today. In the meantime, some districts of western Crete and te island of Leros, in the southeast, have declared a state of emergency because of flooding. I have no clear image regarding the amount of rain that has fallen in the lowlands, though some figures of coastal areas are three-digit for the last couple of days. I think I had noticed some snow in parts of Lapland in September, too? Third tab: October totals so far (mm). Georgioupolis...............238................... ............420 Tavronitis.......................64............... ................300 Varypetro.....................170................. ..............258 Alikianos......................165................ ...............248 Kakopetros...................125.................. .............215 Elos...............................58............. .................182 Agrokipio......................111................ ..............180 Chalepa (Chania)...........62,4........................... ..175 Drapanias......................47................. ..............159 Paleochora....................37.................. ...............51 Chrysoskalitissa............14.................... .............46 The White Mountains (in western Crete too) have lots and lots of snow.
