Hi, All,
Only 1cm but 50% cover at the Met O site. 50% down at the Lead Mill. The main problem this morning is ice as the heavy snow showers around 04Z - 06Z partially melted and re-froze. The gritters seem to have been caught out by this one - roads are quite slippy with lying snow in parts. Heavy showers with sudden gusts came in around 04Z suddenly (same as the night before) after clear, calm, frosty conditions with screen down to -2.9C at both sites. I too was caught out as the rain gauge heater was not switched on and the gauge is full of ice! Obviously nothing on the graph for the event but melting rapidly now with the heater. 7.1mm in the manual gauge.
