Default Snow pics from the northwest

Good evening everyone.

Even though it hasn't snowed in the northwest of the country (Epirus,
prefecture of Ioannina) for the last week, snow is still a problem. Here are
some pictures I was sent today from the region:

Peristeri mountain (2225m)

a house at 1400m:

and a farm:

Tsepelovo village:

town of Metsovo:

I'm not sure if temperatures have dropped below -12C there yet.

It's hard to believe that we're looking at photos from Greece!
Thanks for posting Yannis, from a spring like Yorkshire.

It's a bit much but not too exceptional. Mind you, ofcourse it would be
exceptional for Athens for instance!

Thats me, dollar down and a day late ... guess its because I always
associate Greece with sun having previously visited Rhodes, Corfu, Zante and
Crete ... where the only skiis are the watery variety!

I remember visiting Tsepelovo in the 1980s and being shown photos with
a lot of snow... Then a lot of villagers headed down the hill for the
winter.. Never understood why Greece never took off as a ski
destination..

I have spent a fair amount of time skiing in Europe but have never ever seen
Greece advertised nor realised they have their own seemingly active
industry. Perhaps Yannis should consider adding advertising mogul to his
repertoire of abilities, it could prove a profitable mix!
