http://ukie.accuweather.com/ukie/bas...er=accuweather Keith (Southend) http://www.southendweather.net More fantasy from Joe. Got to hand it to you Keith, you never give up hope! I've long lost interest in this Winter, could well end up warmer than 89 and 90 If it's snow you are after mate best wait until March or April then we may get something more interesting! -- Graham |

Well here's the current headline:
Headline: Winds easing down. Exceptionally mild across central and southern parts. Another night with the window open. A complete scandal for mid-January |

Nightmare scenario... Mild, windy, wet Jan & Feb. Then the blocking finally sets in, too late for good snow, but gives weeks of easterlies with cold, dull, featureless weather in March & April, just when we want to put winter behind us and get on with spring. -- steve Weather at Scotton, Knaresborough, North Yorkshire http://www.knaresboroughweather.co.uk |

Reminds me of 1975 (which was I think the warmest until 1989)! December (warmest Dec on record) had no snow. January (2nd warmest Jan on record) with no snow until 28th (2cms) February had naff all regarding snow but at least temps were nearer normal. Had to wait until March 27th (Easter if I recall) and we had 16cms of the damn stuff, with more snow in April. There were 7 days with snow lying from Dec to April and only one occurred in Winter!! -- Graham |

My max. today was a whopping 10.2 deg C. Amazing all these double figure maximums! Still, maybe some hill snow on Dartmoor next weekend, looks good anyway with the -3C 850 isotherm over us. It will snow eventually up here, just a matter of when. Will (Haytor, Devon, 1017 feet asl) -- |
