ECMWF seems to be hinting what Will was on about with the battleground

GFS seems to be a bit out on a limb atm.

But it's a fairly consistent limb. It's been moving steadily away from the
cold plunge idea for several runs.

Mmm, it would be sods law if this was the first GFS run to come true!

06Z run is sticking with the same story.

Wonderful, wind & rain to look forward to :)

The phrase "it's still all to play for" should be banned from this
moment onwards
It doesn't mean anything, the person who 'says' it, is just trying to
cheer themselves up

In the Kate Bush song "cloudbusting", the lyrics "just saying it,
could even make it
happen" - sadly not true when it comes to weather

I've heard of raindancing before... now it's time to go outside and do
a 'snow-dance' ;)

Yes OK saying it but it has to be performed naked, and with a loud
chanting. A central fire is essential to invoke the Great Powers. Now
I don't know about your neighbours but mine would regard it as part of
my natural behaviour pattern. Will can dance around sheep - no problem.
But I suspect several members may have difficulties.
Cheers
Paul

tells a different story (compared to the GFS of late), as does EC.

Place your bets.

Although 00Z run stuck with past runs, the 06Z GFS has changed tack. Looks
colder than it has done for a while.

And if you believe the period T+144-168, that looks quite like some
snow for most of England and Wales.

But we're talking T+144 GFS here...
