Or are you suggesting that the journalist should have "improved" the

I'm confirming that the instrument was registering what was reported,

No I'm not :-)

I'm confirming that the instrument was registering what was reported,
nothing more.


Alright let you have that. B-) Still no one can rely on that reading
being an accurate representation of the *actual* peak altitude acheived.
