Heard on the wireless that Luton had had a early thunderstorm with 10mm of
rain. Does that mean that if Philip Eden didn't know about it ,there's someone out there tring to steal his thunder ? The airport didn't report thunder, nor does it report rainfall. I'll investigate. Or perhaps Everton might like to drop me an e-mail (when I used to go in regularly it wasn't possible to post to usenet via the BBC system although that may have changed). Philip |

Philip Nothing of any great note in Chalfont St Giles. 1.3 mm between 0110z and 0130z with a max rate between bucket tips of 5 mm/hr. After 0130z there were only occasional bucket tips (0.254mm per tip - actually 0.01 inches) up till 0700z. Ah, OK ... and could it be the Everton tried to add some factual information to a vague traffic report by deducing from the radar output that rain was falling at 10mm **per hour** in the area? I'll not find out my own Luton figure until this evening, unfortunately. Philip |
