I don't know how common snowstorms are of the Norwegian west coast at
this time of year but this one seems one to reckon with.

From The Times

"STAVANGER The German Navy appeared embarrassed last night by the
grounding of one of its key minesweeping vessels off the west
Norwegian coast.

A snowstorm blinded the Grömitz and forced it on to rocks, despite its
high-tech navigation system. "We are assuming a navigation error was
made," said a spokesman for the rescue centre at Stavanger. None of
the 42 crew members, normally based in the north German port of Kiel,
was harmed. "

Yes, but it would seem from our perspective there is a slight problem in
that there is low pressure exactly where the high pressure was supposed to
be to bring the NE'lies.

And it is interesting to see the snow that Denmark and further north
is enjoying. It could so easily have been us but for that blasted bath
of an Atlantic.
