It arrived in it's own small box, which had been packed in a *much* larger cardboard travel box, but there was *no* intermediate packing of any kind between the product box and the travelling box - consequently this unit had been allowed to rattle around in transit, and I wasn't overly surprised when I found that the unit would not work properly. Conrad refunded IN FULL (i.e. including my return postage) the full cost of the unit, and promised to look at the packaging of such items so I can't fault them on the after-sales, but if you do decide to order, it might be as well to ask if it will be packaged properly to avoid damage in transit. Never mind - I got a Davis Vantage Pro 2 a couple of days ago :-) I'll
leave the Maplins rain gauge running and compare the 2 rain readings when we next get rain. Will post the results. OK we've had rain. When my Maplin's rain gauge first reached 4mm, my Davis VP2 was showing 5.2mm. Looks like mine is also under-reading. -- Regards, Hugh Jampton |
