Last recordable rainfall here in the Otter Valley was the 22nd of March. But
the last substantial rainfall, i.e., greater than 5 mm was on the 6th of March. I have never known the grass to turn brown in April but it is now! Currently at 21:20, 10.7C, RH 60%, DP 3.3C, 1019.6 mb (S), Wind calm NNW, 12.4 hours of bright sunshine today. ________________ Nick G Otter Valley, Devon 80 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |

Soil dry on top but moist underneath. Just 1.1 mm rain in April. Last larger amount of "rain" was on 29th March when we collected 6.8 mm but that was from hail, sleet and snow showers! Different world on Dartmoor just southwest of Exeter. 2150 Temp. 8.8C. Will (Haytor, Devon, 1017 feet asl) -- |

We had some rain here in Plympton, Plymouth last Saturday Night making it
quite sticky in the warm sunshine on Sunday. On Monday although dry in Exeter and most of the Journey home I passed through a shower which just was enough to wet the A38 between South Brent and Ivybridge. It was dry at home in Plympton though. However this is the only rain I have seen since mid March. It was almost like someone through a switch from the constant rain of the Winter once we reached the Equinox. It has also meant that I have not needed to cut the grass which is a normal occurance here even throughout the Winter if there is a dry couple of days to allow me to do it. The little growth from the grass is being kept under control by moving the Guinea Pigs round the garden. Stan "Will Hand" wrote in message ... "Nick G" wrote in message ... None here since March 30th and only 8mm since March 6th. Dave, S.Essex. |
