One of the main disadvantages for me with this system has been the
time of day the new daily record starts. It is set in stone at 12
midnight. For most people I gather on here and elsewhere this doesnt
cause a problem, but for myself and other Met Stations we use the
0900hr rollover time (10am in the summer).

I have my new VP2 since December and I am happy to report its working
fine, the data is very similar to the Met equipment with the added
bonus of being able to see it live on my screen without walking up the
garden. Since then I have been asking around and nobody is able to
offer anything to change the rollover time from midnight to 0900hrs,
as a result daily data can often be very different, especially
rainfall.

After emailing Davis in the USA and getting no response I finally sent
them a letter asking if they could find a solution, Yesterday I
received a reply, the answer is "

At this time there is no way to change the time of day that the
station starts a new daily record. This is unlikely to change in the
near future. I will pass along your suggestion though.
