[WR] Glen Lyon, Perthshire
On Carn Gorm 1029m.
Snow down to 300m frequent heavy snow showers on wind strong enough to blow me over. No idea how much fell, its blowing away. Afternoon much brighter , but wind stronger. Wild stuff. During the morning there were no views to the north, but by 1500 I could see very snowy Ben Alder and the Gaick hills. I expect things have been a wee bit rough further north. Richard Webb |

Hello Richard.
Whereabouts are you in Glen Lyon? I made it to Pubil on Friday night despite getting the car stuck. I stupidly tried to get across the Ben Lawers road. It was snowing as I climbed, but the problem was old drifts across the road, and I managed to bottom out the car between the ruts. Anyway after 10 minutes of jiggling I got it out, and headed back down with my tail between my legs. Pubil had snow over about 300m overnight, lying to about 1/2 inch. It was snowing as I went to sleep about 11pm, and after that it froze hard on the ground. The road was indeed like an ice rink. There were some heavy showers in the morning, but as the sun came out a fair bit of the snow disappeared, but still leaving enough to keep the ground white. Sunday continued sunny and cold, with snow still lying above 300m. Alas I had to leave, as it looks like being a good week in Glen Lyon |
