Please feel free to add your own suggestions if you agree that this may help with some of our social poblems. 1. Expedite even more unnatural disasters, such as inculcating in otherwise harmless farmers in third world countries, thoughts of revenge for shed blood with acts we might misconstrue as terrorism. 2. Help reduce the amount of gun/knife crime, by way of giving the youth legal purpose.for having and using said weapons. 3. Eradicate minority ethnic groups fromo British Society at the whim of the next Thatcherlike imbecile. 4. Add more names to memorial tablets. . 5. Bombing the innocent, killing all the women, children and aged. Making the rest homeless and even more vulnerable. 6. Drag all the dregs of society into the military, not just the ones who want work but are incapable of finding it but the ones that don't want to be in the military too. And teach them how to kill people. Sounds good to me. Funny how they have National Service in Greece and have very little of the social problems that the UK have. I visit Greece quite often and, having just come back from Crete where there is virtually NO crime, they seem to be doing something right, whereas the United Kingdom seems to be spiraling into a disfunctional society with little respect for law and order. Think of the panic buying of water in Gloucestershire, people taking more than their quota of water and kids damaging the water bowsers, instead of everyone mucking in and helping each other. National Service, led by qualified Armed Forces Personnel, would install discipline in the youth of this country. Whilst they may be equipped with the knowledge to carry what you say above, I believe the overall experience of controlled discipline would actually steer them in the right direction for the rest of their lives; just as it does in Greece. |

Which does not prove that this is due to national service. Perhaps they have better parenting in Greece, for example, or more community spirit. |

That's because the government, being criminals themselves, seek to encourage criminality in the hope hat they can get away with it. For God's sake someone convince me I am wrong. Think of the panic buying of water in Gloucestershire, people taking more than their quota of water and kids damaging the water bowsers, instead of everyone mucking in and helping each other. The lead comes from our leaders. National Service, led by qualified Armed Forces Personnel, would install discipline in the youth of this country. Probably. But then, discipline would be bad for the governemnt. After all, they don't understand it, and if enough people did, we might rebel and overthrow them. -- Created on the Iyonix PC - the world's fastest RISC OS computer. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/m.dixon4/ |

I agree with your observations however, about our society. I believe it is down to parents - values have to be installed at an early age. The media doesn't help. I overheard two boys of only about 7 quoting that "Phil (from Eastenders) sorted out that bitch for pinching her boy (by beating her up and pushing her off a building)" I believe such programmes set the tone not reflect it, as claimed.
