Hi all,
Out of curiosity, does any member of the Ng have a site which enables them to estimate prevailing visibility over 10km using the full 360 degree circle around them? For the record, my maximum visible objects range from 30-32km 190-350 degrees, to 3-10 km from 350-190 degrees. Regards, Ian, Raunds, East Northants. 63m. In all other directions the most distant objects visible are in the range 30-500 metres. It's not the best site for visibility observations :-( Norman -- Norman Lynagh Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire 85m a.s.l. (remove "thisbit" twice to e-mail) |

Not at home but if I climb 500 feet up to the the summit of Rippon Tor (1 mile
away and 1500 feet asl) I can see 10 miles in all directions. Will -- "Ian" wrote in message ups.com... The Bablake School tower has visibility of 6km over the city centre (see the web cam), but just 1km in the opposite direction because of a hill. I think Cairngorm summit might fit the bill, Ian - but few other recording stations I would think. How about the top of the Birminham Uni Muirhead tower? This is actually meant to be serious.
Some Estate Agents take photos (of property) from helium balloons fitted with cameras. Now that idea has wonderful potential for weather webcams. Jack |
