Dear All,
Met up with a lifelong friend over Christmas who works for a company called Atomwide - they're setting up networks of weather stations which make for quite interesting reading: http://weather.atomwide.com/ As far as I recall - the weather stations are "reputable" ones - i.e. Vantage Pro systems. They're aiming on networks of weather stations based around educational regions - London is doing quite well at the moment as you can see and they're hoping to make it more country-wide. I'm very impressed (and am not trying to sell on behalf of his company!!) Richard |

Yes costs seem quite steep - I wonder how much the standard "kit" costs. I think it's aimed at education rather than the personal user. My worry, as I said to my friend, was QAing the sensors and general upkeep - but apparently results are monitored for irregularities. Richard |

RonB I noticed this as well Ron - 180º out. Seems they are the type of wind arrows that 'go with the flow'. Forecast was for rain and snow in Orpington but it did seem on the warm side for that. Incidentally all the examples I looked at had been installed in schools. Nice display (apart from the wind arrows) but isn't this very similar to Weather Display Live? -- George |
